There are three weeks left in my first year of teaching 7th grade special education English.
It's been a whirlwind.
My goal at the beginning of the year was simply to survive. I was (still am) planning my wedding, in grad school, and experiencing my first year of teaching. I also moved, went through a job transition with my fiance, and countless other things.
But somehow, I have not only survived, but thrived. My students and I learned so much together -- about each other, about English, and about the world around us.
One of my students, who liked to call himself Bob, taught me more than I learned in all of my grad school classes this year combined! So I dedicated the name of this blog to him. Over the course of the summer, as I reflect and decompress from the year, I hope to share many of the lessons he taught me, while also providing some of the resources and lessons I used.
